Because the business of law enforcement can be so zealous and competitive, the Mosley Law Offices believe that providing strong defenses for individuals accused of crimes helps to preserve liberty for all who may be accused, and indeed for everyone generally. We have obtained favorable outcomes in defending prosecutions in Appellate, Superior, State, Magistrate, Recorder's, and Municipal Courts, in the City of Lawrenceville, where our offices are located, in the County of Gwinnett, of which Lawrenceville is the county seat, and throughout the greater Atlanta Metro area

The point of the Fourth Amendment, which often is not grasped by zealous officers, is not that it denies law enforcement the support of the usual inferences which reasonable men draw from evidence. Its protection consists in requiring that those inferences be drawn by a neutral and detached magistrate instead of being judged by the officer engaged in theoften competitive enterprise of fettering out crime.
~Justice Jackson, United States Supreme Court, in Johnson v. United States (1948).

How do I tell a misdemeanor from a felony?

To be sure what is a misdemeanor and what is a felony, you have to check the Georgia Code. Be careful, however, as some facts can fit multiple statutes. Just because an alleged offense can be charged under one statute does not mean it cannot be charged under another. Feel free to contact us for the text of the particular offense you may have a question about.
